Stormwater Management Bylaw
Frequently Asked Questions
Stormwater is precipitation that runs off the land due to roofs, driveways, sidewalks, patios, etc. Traditionally, it has been collected and transported from private properties in underground pipes which empty into the closest water body. Watercourses become deluged with water and banks become unstable. Pollution from driveways, fertilizers, etc impacts aquatic life if transported by the stormwater. Drainage pipes need to be maintained and sized to handle all of the stormwater. To read why a bylaw is required, click here. Once you've opened this page, then click on: Frequently Asked Questions.
